2020 Team Events

The Ultimate Teen Challenge team eventsSunday, March 8th

  • A Team consists of TWO TEEN’S working together on each event for the best combined scores for each event.

Weighted Sled Push

Team members will remain together with one teen running the course and the other teen coaching and encouraging their counterpart. Teen #1 will push a weighted sled halfway down the length of the course, stop and perform 10 plyometric burpees with pushup, then continue pushing the sled across the line at the end of the course where they will do 10 alternating lunge jumps. Teen #2 will do the exact activities in reverse, i.e. push the sled back down the course, stopping halfway to perform their 10 plyometric burpees with pushup, then continuing back to the original starting point where Teen #2 will do 10 alternating lunge jumps. Weight on the sled will be calculated as a 100% of the average body weight of both athletes. Time will be calculated towards total score.

 

Wt. Calc. Example:               Teens weigh in at 180 lb. and 195 lbs

Average weight of both teens is      187.5 lb.

Total weight on the sled = 187.5 lb. rounded to the nearest 5 lb. = 190 lb.

Plates added to the sled = 190 – 80 (wt. of sled) = 110 lb.                                                                               (This is the number that will appear on the teen’s armband.)

Sand Bag Relay

Team members will remain together with one teen running the course and the other teen coaching and encouraging their counterpart. Teen #1 will carry a designated number of sandbags of increasing weight down the length of the course, depositing them at the far end. Teen #2 will then carry the same sandbags back to the starting point. Each team’s time will be calculated towards their total team score.

Battle Rope Challenge

One team member will do 30 side to side switch to the 2nd team member will do 30 up and down both arms together overhead and down to legs. Each team’s time will be calculated towards their total team score.

Slam ball Toss / Duck Walk

Team members will remain together with one teen running the course and the other teen coaching and encouraging their counterpart. Teen #1 will overhead toss Slam Ball as far as they can then run down pick up Slam Ball overhead and duck walk to end of course. Teen 2 will then do the same back to beginning. Each team’s time will be calculated towards their total team score.
